Formation of Numbers – Primary Montessori Math

Heather Brostron, primary directress (preschool/kindergarten teacher) at OakHaven Montessori School in O’Fallon, MO, demonstrates to a group of parents how the golden bead material (formation of numbers) works. Preschool and kindergarten age children (in OakHaven’s primary program) have fun working with these materials, which helps them learn:

- to make numbers of more than one category and read them
- the position of various categories
- we can make great big numbers with 1 – 9
