January Photos - 2019
"January brings the snow, makes our feet and fingers glow." - Sara Coleridge The first month of 2019 brought plenty of snow and cold with it. Our primary classrooms welcomed three new children. Our parents experienced the Silent Journey and Discovery. There was a sense of renewal among us all. As we say "goodbye" to January and welcome February, we look back on this past month with much fondness and appreciation. We hope you enjoy. #January #oakhavenmontessorischool #oakhaven

Elementary Students Participate in GO! St. Louis Read, Right, Run Race
This past Saturday, four of our elementary students ran in the GO! St. Louis Read, Right, Run race. March Photos
March was a big month around the OakHaven campus. The upper elementary children held a bake sale for St. Jude's, Ms. Mikol dressed up like a unicorn, we held our annual PJ Day to support our animal fund, and the elementary held their science fair. Enjoy looking back at the past month in photos! #fridayphotos #oakhavenmontessorischool #oakhavenmontessorischoolprimary #oakhavenmontessorischoolelementary #PJDay #StJudes #March

Ms. Mikol Gets Pie in the Face for St. Jude's
For the past few weeks, the elementary students worked to raise money for St. Jude's. The children went door-to-door, brought in their own money, and held a bake sale to raise over $1,100! As a result of the money the students raised, Ms. Mikol spent the past week holding up her end of the deal - she agreed to perform various tasks for each benchmark the children reached in their fundraising efforts. Because the elementary students surpassed their total goal, Ms. Mikol went t

The Imagination
Towards the end of school last year, I was talking with some of the elementary children about our growing community. I distinctly remember asking, “Can you imagine 28 students in our classroom next year?”. Their minds were racing, coming up with ideas for how community jobs would be done, how lunch tables would be set, even how with more children there would be more friends and games to play at recess. So I started to think about imagination; we all have it, but it takes time
